Hello World!
Hey all,
I was introduced to astalavista years ago but it wasn't until very recently that I have had the funds to join. I am here to learn as much as I can. I have been fascinated with computers since I was very young. I have limited programming knowledge, and virtually no experience working with linux. I spent years building and overclocking gaming PC's, but was never a very active gamer. I was always more interested in taking machines apart, putting them back together, and seeing what I can make them do. With that being said, and trying not ramble, I am not as interested in learning how to use the tools and exploits on the site as I am to gain a deep understanding of how they work. I am setting a a linux box in my house now, along with a windows server and my main pc which I guess will act as a client. I was advised that having one of each of these machines set up alongside each other will help me in my quest to learn. If anyone has any advice on what linux based OS I should start out on please let me know.
I look forward to building working relationships with other members in this community, and hope that with a lot of hard work and a little help I can get to where I want to be. Thanks for having me!

Previous Challenge Archive
Are previous challenges and wargames, which have been solved, available as an archive anywhere on this site? They could be used by members; future or current, for educational purposes. Even a selling point to interest membership.

Reverse Engineering Citrix Netscaler Persistence Cookies
Evening all,
In my day job I work with Citrix Netscalers a lot, in order for the Netscalers to maintain persistence they use an encrypted cookie which defines the Load Balancer Service Name, Server IP and Server Port.
I've spent some time and managed to decrypt these cookies into plain text.
The cookies are encrypted using a cipher subsitution method for the Service Name and a XOR encryption for the server IP and Server port using two different keys.
The result is a python script that will take the Netscaler cookie and give back the "plain english" version.
It's my first attempt at Python and I've had some help from a couple of friends who are pentesters so while it might not be pretty it works.
You can find the code here:
http://code.google.com/p/netscaler-cookie-decryptor/
Thanks.
